Knowing how to choose a water filter can be confusing, so we broke it down for you.
If you’re here, you know that just because we don’t immediately notice health issues from drinking or showering in tap water, the toxic load will build up over time. When you add in all the other sources of contamination to our bodies, you realize everything you can do helps.
Despite the desire to easily dismiss what we don’t understand, water is much more complex than most people realize. It’s not just H20, but a widely varying, vital solution of chemical, mineral, ionic, and energetic qualities. Many researchers have devoted decades to studying it’s highly unique qualities.
Most health conscious people already know that city tap water is full of all kinds of contaminants you do not want in your body, including chemicals, pharmaceuticals, hormones, chlorine, fluoride, etc.
The best water to drink is “wild water”, that is natural spring water straight from the source. This is [in most cases] naturally filtered, naturally mineralized, and has most likely never been contaminated by modern chemicals and pollutants. There are also more esoteric properties we discuss below.
Look for a good source of spring water at FindaSpring.com. If you can’t find a source near you, or prefer to not hassle with collecting it yourself, then there are some great alternatives. Besides drinking water, you also want to consider the quality of water you soak in, and vapor you breathe in.

Here are the bullet points of what we’ve learned through our extensive research…
How To Choose a Water Filter for Your Home.
When wanting to know how to choose a water filter, there are some questions you have to ask yourself…
What is my budget? It’s wise to save your body from having to filter so much of the bad stuff, but what other priorities do you have right now?
If you’re reading this, you obviously care about the quality of your drinking water. What variables have you not thought about? This post will help.
Do I want to focus on just one or two areas, or filter all my water?
Do I prefer to get flouride out too? Flouride is more difficult than things like chlorine.
Are there any specific contaminants I know my water supply is high in?
WATER FILTER FOR THE WHOLE HOUSE
New generation compact whole house water filtration systems
Want the most filtration for the least cost? A whole house filter does it all in one compact system. Some new systems like this one use advanced magnetic charge technology, as well as 4 stages to get all the impurities out. For a simple whole house solution, look into the Whole House Water Filter System by ProOne
SHOWER AND BATH FILTERS
Did you know you can absorb as many toxins taking 1 shower as an entire week of drinking straight tap water?
You absorb some of this through your skin, but most of it is absorbed through your lungs by the steam that’s created.
The real issue is that your liver isn’t helping filter these toxins coming through your skin and lungs. It’s wise to consider using a shower filter to avoid this.
You can fill up the tub through the shower head
Some filters utilize vitamin C to neutralize chemicals like chlorine. The one I use (ProOne) uses a variety of media to even filter out Fluoride (a challenging but important chemical to remove).
PROS
Eliminate the potentially highest source of chlorine contamination (through the skin and lungs)
Makes water feel softer, which makes hair feel softer
Easy Install
Cartridges are easy to replace
Comes in several styles and colors
CONS
Initial cost, but very much worth it (so no real down-side)

WATER FILTERS FOR THE KITCHEN
Reverse Osmosis Water Filter Systems – R.O.
From our research, a reverse osmosis system is one of the best at removing multiple contaminants (Some even filter out fluoride), but because they are so effective at removal, the water must be re-mineralized for maximum health benefits. This can be easily done by simply adding a teaspoon of Himalayan, or Sea Salt per gallon of water. Adding Ormus would be another great option.
The biggest negative to R.O. systems is there waste of water in the filtering process. The other, is the number of cartridges that need replacing often to be effective. This is especially true in the smaller kitchen units.
PROS:
Excellent Filtration through multi-stage systems
Easy to add specific types of filter elements depending on your specific issues.
Easy use once installed
One of the most popular filter methods used
CONS:
Will leach minerals from the body if not re-mineralized first.
Filter cartridges need replaced every 6 months to a year depending on water quality
Installation can be time consuming, and requires some skill
Wastes significant amount of water as it purifies.
We no longer recommend water ionizers. According to many health experts, you don’t want to be drinking overly alkaline water consistently. The body is designed to be at different pH levels, depending on the function of that organ or system. The gut for example is supposed to be acidic when digesting food, although not so when resting.
Gravity fed filters like the ProOne are the ultimate survivalist filter because you can easily pour water in, and it will work anywhere without power. They do take some time to filter, but some believe it does a better job because the water is not being pushed through the filter.
PROS:
Very portable since it’s not attached to hoses.
Will work anywhere without power (great for emergencies).
Good filtration of chemicals and harmful organisms, fluoride filtering option
Less costly than many under-sink or inline counter-top systems
CONS:
Need to refill top reservoir often
Longer wait if you forget to keep the top half filled with water to be filtered
Water distillers look similar to a coffee pot, but clean the water by using a steam process (some utilize filters as well). Many people love to drink distilled water because it may be the purest available with an important caveat… Distilled water is great for health cleanses and short term drinking because of it’s ability to pull impurities out of your tissues and body fluids. Distilled water is devoid of minerals, so it leaches them from your body. This makes it excellent for cleansing, but not for everyday use.
PROS
Strips all minerals and contaminates from drinking water
Easy use
Great for occasional cleanses
CONS
Can strip your body of essential minerals with consistent use
Water is devoid of healthy minerals, essentially a “dead” water
This is a high quality refrigerator or ice-maker water filter to replace the poor quality one in most refrigerators. This one by ProOne reduces or eliminates over 200 contaminants including Fluoride.
You’ll notice much better tasting water, and ice cubes. By reducing the chemicals, and heavy metals you drink, you’ll be making a foundational improvement in your overall health.
Carbon Block Water Filters (No to MultiPure)
We no longer recommend the Multipure Brand filters for multiple reasons.
In the one we had purchased, the rubber o-ring that performs the function of the seal between the two halves of the filter had some sort of defect. This caused severe damage to our kitchen and thousands of dollars of damage. They refused to cover any of the cost.
In addition, their company’s lawyers actually complained we used their name and images on this site to promote their product! This is not the type of company we wish to see have any future. We recommend you look elsewhere.
WATER VORTEXERS
If you really want to go deep into how to choose a water filter, look at water vortexing.
There are experts who’ve studied more of the mysterious qualities of water unknown to most. Dr. Gerald H. Pollach wrote the book, “The Fourth Phase of Water” Genius minds like Patrick Flanagan, Wilhelm Reich, and Viktor Schauberger have spent decades researching and speaking about “structured” water rich in “orgone,” or monotamic elements.
Watch this fascinating documentary on some of the secrets of water…
Spring water naturally rises to the surface (some believe by forces of levitation acting on monatomic elements). Furthermore, structuring the water is naturally done through the fluid dynamics of vorticular spin. This, of course, is the way water naturally moves, and not through straight lines and 90 degree elbows.
Water Vortexers are something you won’t hear much about unless you really dig deep into the research on water.
Cynics will want to dismiss this because they don’t understand this different model of science. The science is very extensive, but built upon a fundamentally different model of Physics that can explain anomalies that traditional Physics can not.
If you want to know the Physics deeper, check out the pioneering work of Viktor Schauberger. Obviously, if you’re a fan of Nikola Tesla, Nassim Haramein, Masaru Emoto, Hermetics, or Patrick Flanagan, you’ll understand this view of the dynamics of water.
Water Vortexers “Bring Water Back to Life”
Water Vortexers like the this one restore the natural health, structure and vitality of water. A powerful vortexing action causes implosion in the water, allowing the natural pH balance to be restored to your water.
Whether your water is too alkaline or too acidic, it will be brought to a natural pH balance. Furthermore, this will also drop many of the contaminates like chlorine from the water and make your water more absorbable into your cells by reducing the surface tension of the molecules.
You’ll notice both the taste and feel of your water will improve.
Makes water “alive” again through implosion and vortexing
Much healthier water for drinking and bathing
Can help with chlorine and other contaminants
Improve your health through something you’ll use everyday
CONS
Requires open-minded discovery and research to understand how they work
Initial Expense (although there are no parts to wear out)
